Annual School-Age Spring Institute!
Who?: The Annual School-Age Spring Institute is specifically designed for out-of-school time professionals including: school-age child care providers; 21st Century Community Learning Center directors & staff; and youth development professionals.
What?: The Annual School-Age Spring Institute is presented by the Kentucky School-Age Child Care Coallition in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Education, 21st Century Community Learning Centers and the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance with the purpose of bringing quality school age and youth development training to out-of-school time professionals throughout Kentucky.
Clock hours will be awarded through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Division of Child Care (DCC). The sessions will be organized into strands based on School-Age Quality Program Standards recently adopted by the DCC. The School-Age Quality Program Standards subject areas define the specific knowledge, competencies, and characteristics needed by school age childhood professionals to develop a quality afterschool program and work effectively with school-age children and their families. In addition, sessions related to academic enrichment with emphasis on the subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), will be provided.
When?: March 8 -10, 2012
Where?: The Ramada Plaza Hotel, Louisville, KY (Discounted room rates available, call 502-491-4830 for reservations.)
Why?: The purpose of the Annual Spring School-Age Institute is to bring quality school age training to out-of-school time and youth development professionals throughout Kentucky.
How Much?: Registration rates range from $70 to $215, depending on attendance and membership.
